High ticket prices kept them away

Thank you so much for mentioning the outrageous ticket prices, which were the reason we weren't at the concert though we'd have loved to be there.

At 62 myself, I'm not up to standing on the floor at a price of $79 for so many hours anymore! To be seated and reasonably close to the stage would have cost us $250 plus fees, so we couldn't go.

I also thought the Crosby Stills and Nash tickets at Humphrey's were very expensive and seemed out of line with their political beliefs – aren't they rich enough already and wouldn't they have liked some less affluent fans to be able to see them perform?

Anyway, there's no way to get the message about high ticket prices through to the acts themselves, so I thank you for pointing it out in print. I hope Neil Young reads it!

I couldn't agree with you more on the ticket price issue. I go to two or three concerts a year and I like to get good seats for them when I go. I love Neil Young, and if the higher price tickets were around $50, I would have been there. $250? Forget it.

A fan's notes: 'It was an incredible show'

Regarding George Varga's review of the Madonna concert (“Like a celebration: Madonna's Petco Park concert exults in her music and the election of a new president,” Nov. 5, utstreet.com):

What a night! It was an incredible show! Madonna looks absolutely gorgeous and in perfect shape! I felt so honored when people took pictures with me because I look like her! What an honor!
