SAN DIEGO: Bunnies rescued after an animal-cruelty investigation will be up for adoption Saturday.
The county Department of Animal Services confiscated 31 rabbits from a Mira Mesa home after determining that the animals were living in extremely unsanitary conditions.
Fifteen to 20 of them will be waiting for new homes at the San Diego House Rabbit Society's Adoption Center from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. They have been spayed or neutered and are trained to use a litter box.
The adoption center is at 4805 Mercury St., Suite C, Kearny Mesa. For more information, go to sddac.com or sandiegorabbits.org. –S.H.
