Racing season ends with familiar Futurity winner

The 2008 summer thoroughbred racing season here ended the way the seven from 1996 through 2002 had.
With a Bob Baffert-trained 2-year-old, in yesterday's case Midshipman, winning the Del Mar Futurity and stirring visions of bigger races to come.

The jockey is accused of making several threatening phone calls Thursday to his wife, who lives in Monrovia and has a restraining order against Garcia, said Monrovia police Lt. Rick Wagnon.
