With the score tied at 50-50, a Sam Child three-pointer sparked an 11-2 USD run that was capped by a Morgan Woodrow jumper as the Toreros took a 61-52 lead with 2:47 left. USD never looked back as it held onto that nine-point advantage for the remainder of the game.
USD senior forward Kiva Herman scored 10 points, with Child adding eight. Liah Ector had 14 points and eight rebounds, Colleen Planeta added 11 points and Kaitlyn Trotter and Amanda Franz had 10 points apiece for PLNU.
